Statement in response to the latest NHS Staff Survey
Responding to the results of the latest NHS Staff Survey, Professor Habib Naqvi, chief executive of the NHS Race and Health Observatory, said:
“The latest NHS Staff Survey results reflect overall improvements on matters relating to leadership, team working and staff engagement, alongside a marginal reduction in levels of bullying, harassment, and abuse.
“At the same time, however, the experience of staff from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds working in the NHS remains poor and is of concern to the Observatory. More, concerted work needs to happen on this agenda.
“We know that an engaged and fully supported workforce leads to compassionate workplaces, organisational efficiencies and, critically, better outcomes for all patients.”
